Description: Section 14(1) of the Yarra River Protection (Wilip-gin Birrarung murron) Act 2017 provides for recognition in state policy of the Yarra River (Birrarung) and its associated public lands as the 'one whole living and integrated natural entity'. This is achieved through the designation of Yarra River land – that is, Crown land and freehold land owned by responsible public entities (within the meaning of the Act) within 500 metres of the Yarra's riverbanks inclusive of the river, its bed, soil and banks.This data is represented in plans numbered LEGL./17-416 lodged in the Central Plan Office.
